Drought, fire, flood and whirlwind; fear, courage and faith. The dramatic story of the prophet Elijah is brought to life in Mendelssohn’s well-loved oratorio. A lone voice against oppressive rulers, Elijah raises the dead, calls down fire from heaven, escapes persecution and despair, and is taken up to heaven in a whirlwind.

Scottish baritone Ivor Klayman sings the title role and he is joined by other talented soloists, a bespoke choir, and Peebles Orchestra.

See our full programme of events.  If you want to come along and join in the music, rehearsals will start on Wednesday 8th March.  Keep an eye on our diary for details or contact the Orchestra directly.
