"Enjoy Peebles Orchestra's "superb orchestral musicianship" (review, November 2024).
Peebles Orchestra celebrates its 50th anniversary with a special concert featuring works by Scottish and English composers. The concert opens with Hamish McCunn's well-loved overture, Land of the Mountain and the Flood.
The orchestra is delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed composer, harp player and singer Esther Swift. Esther returns to her home town with a new composition for harp and orchestra, written especially for Peebles Orchestra's 50th anniversary. Esther also plays some of her other compositions, arranged for harp and orchestra.
The programme concludes with Vaughan Williams' magnificent London Symphony, a new piece for Peebles Orchestra, as we celebrate our past and look to the future
Led by Ross Gunning, this promises to be a stellar concert from Peebles Orchestra.
